Private Commission Inquiry

​​A select number of private commissions are undertaken each year, allowing each work to be realised to the highest artistic and archival standards.

 

All enquiries are carefully considered for alignment with the artist’s current direction. Selected collectors will be contacted personally to discuss the commission process further.

Reference photography

Please provide high‑quality reference images, as they are essential to achieving the level of detail characteristic of the work.

Please provide 3 to 5 high-resolution images

Image guideline:

  • Ensure photographs are sharp and in focus

  • Use natural lighting; avoid harsh flash

  • Capture clear details, especially in eyes and facial features for portraits

  • Keep the entire subject visible; avoid cropping

  • Recommended minimum file size is 2MB

Not Accepted:

  • Blurry or pixelated images

  • Screenshots from social media

  • Images taken in low light

  • Heavily filtered or edited photos

  • Composite requests combining multiple unrelated low-quality images


If sufficient reference images are not available, the commission may be declined.


Copyright & Photograph Permission

The collector must either:

  • Own the copyright to the reference image(s), or

  • Provide written permission from the professional photographer granting authorization for the image to be used for a commissioned artwork.


If the reference image(s) was taken by a professional photographer, written consent must be submitted before the commissioned work is approved.


Marcela Pepper will not create artwork from copyrighted images without proper authorization. Failure to provide permission (if required) will result in the commission request being declined.


ARTISTIC DIRECTION & BOUNDARIES

Marcela thoughtfully crafts her artwork portfolio by choosing commissions that align with her distinctive style and favored themes.


Currently Accepting:

  • Animal portraits

  • People portraits

  • Landscapes/Seascapes

  • Flowers

  • Wildlife


Not Accepting:

  • Group portraits with multiple complex subjects (unless pre-approved)

  • Highly stylized or cartoon interpretations

  • Detailed background scenes unless artist-approved

  • Replicas of other artists’ work

  • Alterations of copyrighted images

  • Graphic, violent, or controversial subject matter


All artistic compositions, including cropping and interpretation, are at the artist's discretion.


COMMISSIONING & RESERVATION


By submitting this form, you acknowledge:

  • The minimum commission investment starts at 750 GBP (Oil) 550 GBP (Charcoal & Pastel) for a 16 x 20-inch piece. The final investment is influenced by size, subject complexity, and composition.

  • A non-refundable 50% retainer is required to secure your spot. The remaining balance is due before shipment.

  • Commissions are only confirmed once the retainer is received.

  • Retainers are non-transferable due to the limited number of annual commissions.

  • Estimated completion timelines will be discussed upon acceptance.

  • A formal Commission Agreement, detailing scope, timeline, usage rights, and payment terms, will be provided for review and signature before beginning the work.


Marcela reserves the right to decline any commission that does not align with her artistic vision or quality standards.
